Irene Barlow

Irene Barlow passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the age of 97. She born on April 30, 1924 in Scranton, PA to the late Robert and Helen McNichols. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert, Francis, James, Edward, Helen, Mary, Claire and Jean.

A graduate of Scranton Tech class of 1941, she would let anyone know she was smart enough to skip the 6th grade. She was active in her children's lives through Scouting and PTA, and continued on with her grandchildren through sports and activities. She kept her mind sharp by doing two crossword puzzles per day and reading. She was an accomplished baker who provided cookies year round to family and friends, especially at Christmas. She was proud to be an original Fairless Hills homeowner and charter member of Saint Frances Cabrini Parish.

Wife of the late Willard Barlow Sr., she is survived by sons, Bill (Peggy), Don, and Jerry (Missy). She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Nick and Shannon.

Her family would like to thank the staff and the new friends she met at Allegria at the Oaks.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, March 28 2022, from 10:00 until 11:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her funeral service will be held at 11:30 am. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
