Helen F. Martin died surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Aria Health Bucks Campus. She was 90. A long time Lower Bucks County resident, Mrs. Martin was born and raised in Philadelphia, moved to Levittown in 1953 and resided in Fairless Hills for the past 42 years. She enjoyed collecting dolls and was a long time member of the Valley Forge Doll Club and the Letitia Penn Doll Club. She also enjoyed ceramics and knitting. Mrs. Martin was a retail clerk for 25 years for the A & P Tea Company formerly located on New Falls Road, Levittown and prior to that was associated with Daruff Studios, Philadelphia, PA, a nationally known firm that created window displays for major department stores in Philadelphia and New York. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence J., Mrs. Martin is the loving mother of Loren A. Martin (the late Lynne H.) and the devoted grandmother of Michele E. Martin of Philadelphia and Maureen J. Ferro of Oxford. She will also be sadly missed by her 3 great grandchildren, Ethan, Noah and Madelynne Ferro; her brother, Andrew Weiss of Levittown and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Blanche Rey and her brother, William Weiss. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown 19056, where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately.
