Helen Homa (nee Newhouse), age 88, of Langhorne, PA, died on Monday, March 29th, 2010 at home. Born in Kempton, MD, Mrs. Homa moved to Levittown in 1955 and has been a resident of Langhorne since 2001. Until her retirement in 1978, she had worked as a baker at Neshaminy School District, and also worked at the Budd Company and Frantz Packing, all in the Philadelphia area. She is a former member of Saint Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bristol and Saint Michael the Archangel of Levittown, a member of Assumption BVM in Feasterville, the Artisans Club of Philadelphia and the Falls Township Senior Center. Beloved wife of the late Peter Homa. Loving mother of Virginia Elaine Yurgel of Langhorne and Richard Allen Homa of Georgia. She will be sadly missed by her 6 grandchildren: John Allen Yurgel, Peter Raymond Yurgel, Julieann Helen Shaltis, Richard Allen Homa, Jr., Joann Eash and Steven Homa, and her 11 great grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Assumption BVM Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd., Feasterville, PA 19053 where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Assumption BVM Church.
