Born in Trenton, NJ, Mrs. Altmiller has been a resident of Levittown since 1952. She worked for Law School Admission Testing Service for over 25 years until retiring.
Helen was a founding member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish where she was involved in many organizations including Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and Sodality. She was currently a member of St. Frances Cabrini parish where she was active with the Women's Prayer Group. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, the Ladies of Bishop Conwell and volunteered with Martha's Kitchen.
Beloved wife of Carl James "Jim" Altmiller Jr. for 68 years, she was the loving mother of Karen Marks (Donald), Carl James "Jimmy", III (Judy), Marybeth Haberstick (Jack), Robert "Bob" (Joan), Richard (Ouida), Kenneth (Karol) and Kimberly "Kim" Andrews (Jim).
She will also be missed by 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 28th, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan 29th, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Rd., Fairless Hills, PA 19030. There are no calling hours on Friday prior to the Mass.
Friends are also invited to attend her committal service at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 1st, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Frances Cabrini Church.
