

Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was a proud graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School, class of 1950.
Mrs. McMullen worked for AP Green Refractories and then as a secretary to the director of the United States Mint from which she retired.
She loved playing bingo, shopping and going on trips, especially traveling with her family. She loved taking the grandchildren to the movies, the zoo, and was adventurous enough to take two of them to Disney World in Florida in her late 60's. She also had a great love for cats and dogs and will be missed by her dog Missy.
Mrs. McMullen was an avid Eagles fan and in years past was a regular caller to the Steve Fredericks Show on 610 WIP
Mrs. McMullen was an advocate for mental retardation and mental illness. She was a board member of the Philadelphia Community Treatment Teams CTT, which was created in 1989 in response to the closure of Philadelphia State Hospital at Byberry. She participated in a lawsuit resulting in the creation of CTT to ensure that patients discharged from the State Hospital would receive appropriate services delivered in a community setting.
She was predeceased by her husband, James McMullen Sr.; grandmother, Catherine "Catie" McEntee; children, Kathleen, Brian, Thomas and most recently, James McMullen Jr.; and her son-in-law, Joseph Fournier.
Mrs. McMullen is survived by her daughter, MaryEllen Fournier; daughter-in-law Marsie McMullen, grandchildren, Denise and Melissa Fournier, and Travis and James McMullen; great grandchildren, Aiden Wright, Collin and Conor Rooklin, and Jackson Fournier; and her dear cousin, "sister", Renee Kaiser.
Her viewing will be held along with her beloved oldest son, James P. McMullen Jr. on Thursday. June 16, 2022 from 7 until 9pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Family and friends are also invited to call on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 10:00 until 10:30 at Assumption BVM Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd, Feasterville-Trevose, PA 19053, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. the Rite of Committal will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, 1215 Super Highway, Langhorne, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
