Elizabeth A. Marion of Levittown died on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Spring Village at Floral Vale in Yardley following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 78.Born in Trenton and raised in Yardley, Mrs. Marion was a long time Levittown resident prior to moving back to Yardley last year.She formerly attended St. Mary's Cathedral in Trenton and was a long time member of Queen of the Universe parish where she was a member of the Regina Guild and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother in earlier years.Mrs. Marion worked as library assistant for the Neshaminy School District at the high school for 20 years until retiring in 2009.Elizabeth loved books and enjoyed reading, especially with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening in addition to many other hobbies.Daughter of the late John J. and Helen A. McCarthy and step daughter of the late Mary Latham McCarthy, Mrs. Marion was the beloved wife of the late Edward T. Marion.She is the loving mother of Thomas R. (Janet), Michael P., Marguerite F. Marnien (Edward). Helen E. Varacallo (Joseph), James J. (Debbie), Timothy P., Edward T. Jr., Dennis C. (Gerri), Matthew S. (Julia) and Laura Driscoll (Jonathan).Grandmother of the late Stephen Marion, she is survived by 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.She will also be missed by her sisters Sr. Mary Ann McCarthy SOF, Rita O'Dwyer (Bob) and Theresa Dean (Lloyd); her sister-in-law Pat McCarthy; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother John McCarthy.Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 until 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Queen of the Universe Church. Interment is private.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Elizabeth's memory be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
