Edward J. Wolf, Sr. Edward J. Wolf, Sr., "Wolf", died at his home in Levittown on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. He was 89. Born and raised in Philadelphia, the son of the late Otto and Agnes (Kenney) Wolf, he was formerly of Gardner, MA prior to becoming an original Levittown homeowner since 1956. Mr. Wolf was a member of Queen of the Universe Parish, Levittown and was a youth coach for Levittown American Little League. A US Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Wolf was recruited to be a Darby Ranger with the 4th Infantry Battalion. He fought invasions in Sicily and Anzio. He later joined the elite 1st Special Service Force, a combined American/Canadian Commando Unit, before completing his service as part of The Occupation Force in Norway. Mr. Wolf was the owner/operator of Suburban Grinding Company in Horsham for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, particularly the Phillies and Chase Utley. Mr. Wolf enjoyed his many, many trips to the Jersey Shore with his children and grandchildren. Beloved husband of over 57 years to Clare A. (Burkhardt), Mr. Wolf was the loving father of Edward J., Jr. (Margaret), Steven R., Gary R. (Kelly) and Susan A. Michinok (Michael). He was the devoted grandfather of Brian, Leigh Ann, Thomas, Samantha, Alexis, Lindsay, Jennifer and Luke and the brother-in-law of James Burkhardt (Dolores). He was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Wolf. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, 8:30 until 10:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am at Queen of the Universe Church, Levittown. Rite of Committal will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
