

Edith J. Simpson Edith J. Simpson died on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Chandler Hall Hospice after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 76. Born in Langhorne, and a former long time resident of Levittown, she had resided in Fairless Hills for the past 13 years. Mrs. Simpson was a member of Queen of the Universe Parish. She was an administrative assistant in the billing department at Saint Mary Medical Center, Langhorne for 10 years. Mrs. Simpson loved to travel and she enjoyed golfing, however, her greatest enjoyment came from the time spent with her family. Beloved wife of James J. Simpson, Mrs. Simpson was the loving mother of Brenda (Brodie) Cromley, Sherry (Brodie) Simpson, Jim Brodie, Carolyn (Brodie) Ojjeh and her husband, Mike and David Brodie and his wife, Karen. She was the devoted stepmother of Bill Simpson and Mary (Simpson) Ryan; the proud grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of 7; and the sister of the late Charles A. Martindell. She was preceded in death by her granddaughters, Kelly and Shana, her great granddaughter, Autumn and her stepson, James Simpson, Jr. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, 7:00 until 9:00 pm and on Friday, 8:30 until 9:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, followed by Rite of Committal in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society-Bux-Mont, 480 Norristown Road, Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
