Dr. Richard H. Wehr Dr. Richard H. Wehr died, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 73. Born in Allentown and raised in Lehigh Valley, Dr. Wehr was a graduate of Easton High School and East Stroudsburg University. He continued his education and obtained his PhD. in education from Lehigh University. Dr. Wehr was a former teacher at Catasauqua High School. He was the Assistant prinicpal for Broadheadsville High School from 1976 until 1977 and at Emmaus High School from 1977 until 1978. He was the Principal of the Dover Area High School, PA from 1978 until 1986. In 1986, Dr. Wehr relocated to Newtown, where he became an administrator for the Bensalem School District until his retirement in 1998. He was a coin collector and an avid collector of war medals. He enjoyed American History and traveling. Dr. Wehr, after retirement, was a volunteer tour guide at the New Hope Train Station. He was the beloved husband of the late Linda, son of the late Walter and Dorothy (Schleicher) Wehr and brother of the late Karl Wehr. Dr. Wehr is survived by his loving children, Clinton R. (Ramona) of Boston, MA; Christine A. Bate (Bill) of Croydon; Carlton T. (Samantha) of Quakertown; Cynthia Pereira (Michael) of Orlando, FL and their mother, Kathleen Parrella. He will also be sadly missed by his ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 9:30 until 11:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park.
