Debra Chesko Debra Hanko Chesko, of Levittown, died on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse in Philadelphia surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 56. Born in New Britain, Connecticut she was the daughter of the late Gunnar Johnson and Helen Neidzwicki and lived in Bucks County for most of her life. Prior to her retirement in 2010, Debra was employed by the New Jersey State Police for 33 years of dedicated service. She held numerous positions of responsibility within human resources and completed her career with the State Police in 2007 as the Human Resources Bureau Chief. From 2007 to 2010 she was the Director of Human Resources Management for the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety. After retiring from State service in 2010, she was a Pension Benefits and Health Care Consultant for the New Jersey State Police Former Troopers Association. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling and assisting people related to her expertise with human resources. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Debra is survived by her daughter, Lauren Hanko; her husband Rudy Chesko, a retired Major with the New Jersey State Police; brothers Richard A. Johnson and wife Jackie of Fresh Kill, NY; Eric Johnson and wife Beth of Middletown, DE; and Edward Johnson and wife Michelle of Fruitland, MD; sisters Tina DiPadoba and husband Tony of Salisbury, MD; and Elizabeth Johnson and husband Carl of Fruitland, MD; stepdaughters Michelle Riley of Baltimore, MD; and Kristen Ikola of Old Bridge, NJ; stepson Mark Chesko of Forked River, NJ; grandchildren Connor and Dillon Riley, Evan and Zachary Chesko and Ashley Ikola and many family and friends. Family and friends may call Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2185 Bristol Oxford Valley Rd., Levittown, PA 19057, where her Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 pm. Interment will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made to Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse, 1800 Lombard St., Philadelphia, PA 19146.
