David M. Cope Sr.

David was born in Breathitt County, KY, to parents, Samuel and Abrelia Cope. He went on to establish a career as a Plumber, and later a pipefitter with General Motors, working for them for over 15 years. In his retirement, he was an active environmentalist. In addition, Mr. Cope served in the Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.

David is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Joyce Cope; his children: Regina Frey (Cory), David Cope Jr, Dennis Cope, and Joyce Kulb (Eric); his grandchildren: John, David III, Cory Jr, Danny, Mercedes, Demi, and Eric Jr; great grandchildren: Anakin and Kylo; and his brother Danny Cope. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A viewing for David will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, followed by a funeral at 11:00 AM. A burial will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 at 12:15 PM at Newtown Cemetery, 16 N Chancellor Street, Newtown, Pennsylvania 18940.
