Craig was born in Philadelphia, to parents, Richard Canning and Barbara Steele-Canning. He graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1991. He continued his education, attending the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and in 2000 graduated from School of Visual Arts in New York with a degree in graphic design. Craig enjoyed the graphic design work he did at Comcast, ASI (Advertising Specialty Institute), OCM (On Campus Marketing) and Slalom Consulting. As a creative soul, he used his talents on the job creating websites, web applications and user interface solutions.
Family and friends will remember him for his kindness and love for art, music, photography, and animals. Craig spent time volunteering at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. His art was very important to him and a big part of his life he worked on several murals around the Philadelphia area.
Craig was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth D. Steele.
Craig is survived by his son Silas Steele, his mother Barbara Steele-Canning (Lawrence Schuster), siblings Robert Steele (Karen), Kristen Middleton, Sharon Canning, Robin Canning, Lisa Tyree (Ted), Kimberly Sword (Jason) and sister-in-law Patty Hoffer-Steele along with several nieces and nephews.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2024, at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056, followed by a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
