Clifford C. Crawford Clifford C. Crawford, of Yardley, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center at the age of 87. Born in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, Mr. Crawford resided in the Fox Chase and Lawncrest sections of the city before moving to Yardley in 1983. He graduated from Northeast Public High School and attended the Wharton School of Business. In April of 1953 he founded The Wesley Pharmacal Company in Ivyland and prior to that worked as an accountant for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Mr. Crawford was a Navy veteran of Word War II serving in the Pacific Theater on a minesweeper, The USS Defense. Mr. Crawford was a proud family man and lived out his Christian faith as a devoted husband of 61 years to Mary C. (Queenan) Crawford. He was the loving father of Mary Claire Rossi and her husband Joseph of Langhorne, Donna Shumard and her husband Richard of Coatesville, Anita O'Brien and her husband Michael of Jamison, Kip Crawford and his late wife Mary Theresa of Warrington, Elaine Coyle and her husband John of Fairless Hills, Joanne Stricker and her late husband Gregory of Yardley, the late Marguerite Coyle and the late Patrick N. Brady. He was a loving grandfather of Timothy (Casey) Brady, Maryanne (Kirk) Thiel, Kevin (Lisa) McBeth, Janene and Michael O'Brien, Matthew (Mary Beth) Crawford, Katherine (Timothy) Schmidt, Christopher Crawford, John, David and Michael Coyle, Claire Marie Rossi, Shelby and Gregory Stricker, and Anna and Sarah Shumard and great grandfather of Cayden Brady and Emma McBeth. He will also be missed by his sister Veronica Root and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert S. and Margaret M. (Hanlon) Crawford, his brother Albert S. Crawford, and his sister Nancy G. Miller. Family and friends are invited to call Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Friends may also call on Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Yardley United Methodist Church, 300 Yardley Langhorne Rd., Yardley, 19067 where his funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Brooks Crawford Scholarship Fund, c/o 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA 19056.
