Bernice M. Bates

Bernice M. Bates died on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Chandler Hall following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 74.Born in Trenton, NJ, Bernice has been a resident of Fairless Hills since 1969 and was a member of Saint Frances Cabrini Parish.She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville.Bernice was employed with Lincoln Tech in Princeton and the Cittone Institute in Mount Holly, NJ in the admissions office until her retirement. After her retirement, Bernice went back to work part time at Spring Village at Floral Vale in Yardley.Always the life of the party, Bernice kept her many friends amused with her stories, singing and her dancing. Even in terrible pain, Bernice was still dancing. Beloved wife of 55 years to David, she was the loving mother of Marc D. (Randi) and Kevin J. Bates. Bernice was the devoted grandmother of Austin Grace, Parker Richy and the late Rane Bates.She will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.Family and friends will be received from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown where her memroial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
