Ann Marie Sciolla (Gallagher), age 81, of Ivyland, Pennsylvania, passed away after an extended illness on August 28, 2023. She was the loving wife of Francis J. Sciolla, Jr. for 57 years. A talented singer who spent much of her young life– starting at age eight - performing in radio variety shows, musical theater, and local television alongside Philadelphia favorites such as Sally Starr, Gene London, and Larry Ferrari, Ann lent her voice to commercial jingles and performed at venues around the country.
Later in life, as she struggled with chronic myeloid leukemia, erosive arthritis, and dementia, Ann’s voice never wavered as she entertained fellow patients with her singing right up until the moment she passed. A woman of strong faith and conviction, she believed in getting to church before anyone else so she could secure the family seats in the last pew. This is where she believed Jesus sat for mass.
Ann’s home life was her pride and joy. It was there that she delivered nightly lectures on compassion, empathy, God, being polite, how to treat a woman and most importantly, to love and honor your family. She took immense pride in her daughter’s ability to sing, write, and create and for years kept her poems in the family Bible. Ann’s presence is felt every time her son works with a young man or woman in the classroom or on the basketball court. Her grandchildren became the love of her life, and they extended her life. Her love for them was infinite.
Ann is survived by her husband Francis, daughter Angelina, son Francis III and his wife, Amanda, grandchildren Ava and Dante, sister Mary and her husband Arthur, as well as many nieces and nephews.
All services will be private.
