William “Bill” Crump, 92, of Andrews, Texas passed away at the Permian Residental Care Center in Andrews, Texas on August 13, 2011. Funeral services are under the direction of George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas, and will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at George Price Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Andy Hollinger officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors by the United States Air Force at the City of Levelland Cemetery in Levelland, Texas. There will be a Family Visitation on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. at George Price Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland, Texas.
Bill was born on May 26, 1919, the son of William M. and Louella (Rogers) Crump in Roswell, New Mexico. He married Opal Hyder in 1940 in Meadow, Texas. He joined the United States Army Air Corp in 1942 and served as an instructor for Radio and TV Tech. Sgt. Crump was discharged in 1946.They moved to Levelland in 1947 where Bill was self employed as a Radio and TV Tech. Bill was known to find a good campsight in Williams Creek, Colorado, where he would hunt and fish from. He loved to watch the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team. He loved his family even more than baseball. Bill was a charter member and Deacon of Trinity Baptist Church/2nd Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas. He was an Honorary Deacon at Southpark Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. He married Martha Crump in 2001 in Lubbock, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Crump , of the home, three daughters: Sharla Hollinger and Husband, Andy of Brownwood, Texas, Pat Brownlee and husband, Reo of Andrews, Texas, and Donna Swan of Ft. Worth, Texas, one son: Larry Crump and wife, Laura of Fredericksburg, Texas, two sisters: Geneva Bussa of San Antonio, Texas and Myrtle Taylor of Lubbock, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal in 1992, three sisters: Katherine Marsh, Annie Hill, and Lillie Mae, two brothers: Robert Crump and Billy Weldon Crump.
