J.W. Smith

J.W. was born May 31, 1934 in O’Donnell, TX. He was a longtime resident of Whiteface and Lehman, TX. J.W. was a member of Eastside Church of Christ in Morton, TX. He worked at Santa Fe Railroad for 20 years, and then farmed for a few years, but his real passion was the oilfield. He loved pumping his oil wells.

J.W. is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Smith; mother, Faye Smith; and brother, Wayne Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Yvonne Smith of Levelland; daughters, Rhonda Fietz and husband Johnny of Levelland, and Diane Lowrie and husband Randy of Sweetwater; 4 grandchildren, Tamber Carr and husband Randall, Tiffany Jenkins and husband Caleb, Lane Lowrie and wife Lela, and Kacee Lowrie; 5 great grandchildren, Brayden, Rylan, Taegan, Brynn, and Claira; and 1 sister, Francis Odom of Milan, NM.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Interim Hospice of Levelland or the Alzheimer’s Association.
