Funeral Services are under the direction of George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas and will be held on October 26, 2011 at 11:00 am at Broadview Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas with Reverend Ed Clark officiating. Burial will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery in Levelland, Texas.
There will be a Family Visitation at George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
James was born October 24, 1988 in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Allan and Jan (Sisson) Wood. James graduated SPCHEA High School in 2007. James married Tabitha Joplin on February 21, 2009 in Lubbock, Texas. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox baseball team and the New England Patriots football team. He was a lifelong fan of The Texas Longhorns, and a secret fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders football teams. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved doing imitations. He was a student of life’s History and Politics. James was the leader of the College Bible Study at the Broadview Baptist Church where he was also the Worship Pastor. James became a Licensed Minister in 2011. He was a gifted musician and composer.
James is survived by his wife, Tabitha, his mother and step-father, Jan and Neil Nugent of Lubbock, Texas, his father, Alan Wood of Fresno, California, mother and father-in-law, Mark and Becky Joplin of Lubbock, Texas, a brother-in-law, James Joplin of Lubbock, Texas, a sister-in-law, Katie Joplin of Lubbock, Texas, and his grandparents: Kenneth and Kathryn Wood of Fresno, California, Gene and Jo Joplin of Salado, Texas, and Gene and Elnora Nugent of Sundown, Texas, and many aunts and uncles.
