Jeanette Altman Poff, 90, of Lubbock passed away March 20, 2016. She was born June 1925 in Flomont, Texas, to Oscar and Ocie (Guthrie) Altman. She graduated from Hereford High School in 1944. Jeanette married Gail Poff in October 1948 in Hereford, Texas. They spent most of their married life in Level-land, Texas, and raised a family there. A true Proverbs 31 woman, Jeanette was a devoted wife and mother, pouring her heart and soul into many lives. She gave much time and support to the activities her children were in. She was a longtime member of College Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the Levelland Home Demonstration Club for 50 years. She used her creative spirit for many projects. After Gail died in 1982, she courageously made the change back to the workforce. Once again she poured her heart and soul into her work and used her energy and creativity to give her best as a cafeteria manager for the Levelland ISD. Through her activities she was blessed with many true friendships and was a true friend herself. Jeanette is survived by her son, Stanley Poff (Patti) of Lubbock; and daughter, Gina Kitten (Donald) of Lubbock. The grandchildren she cherished and had many good times with: Penny Poff, Peter Poff, Keith Kitten, and Holly Leger. She was also blessed with great grandchildren: Timothy, Hannah, Kara, Kaitlyn and Sarah Poff, and Jay Leger. A family visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 pm at George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 25, 2016, at 2:00 pm in Tulia, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to a favorite charity.
