Euel Elkin “Judge” Palmer, 87, of Levelland, Texas passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015, at his home with family. Funeral services are under the direction of George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas. A public visitation will be held at George Price Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 25, 2015, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Levelland Texas on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 1 p.m. Judge was born on December 26, 1927 in Levelland, Texas to parents Earl Mixon, Sr. and Edna “Rosie” Atchison Palmer. Judge was a 1945 graduate of Levelland High School and attended Texas Tech College before being drafted into the United States Army, stationed in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. After an honorable dis-charge from the United States Army, Judge and Laverne moved back to Levelland to own and operate Palmer Brothers with his two brothers, M.G. and Baldy. The first Palmer business, opened in 1924, which was a tailor shop, set the groundwork for the Palmer business future. Among his many business ventures included cleaners, restaurants, farms, banking, real estate, oil and gas, and cattle. Palmer Brothers remains in operation today. Judge married Doris Laverne Boyd on September 2, 1950. His family and his business brought him the most pride and joy in his life. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Laverne; one son, Kirk Palmer of Levelland; one daughter, Penny Palmer Webb and husband Donnie “Boogie” Webb of Levelland; grandson, Derek Palmer and wife Carrie and their daughter Elizabeth “Lizzie” of Bandera, Texas; grandson, Dillon Palmer Webb of Fort Worth, Texas; one grand-daughter, Stevi Marie Foster and her husband Tyler Rowdy Foster of Thibodaux, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Evelyn Palmer of Levelland, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews which he loved.
