Memorial services were held for Debra Diane Phillips, 55, of Levelland at Fifth Street Baptist Church, Levelland on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 11:00 am. Burial preceded the service at the City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. She died on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was under the care of Hospice of Lubbock.
Debra was born to Tommy and Dovie Ruthell Thompson on February 19, 1955 in Dallas, Texas. She moved to Levelland as a child, attending Levelland schools and South Plains College. For the past seven years, she taught at Cactus Elementary School in Levelland. She was a beloved teacher, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hoby Brent Phillips in 2002. She is survived by three daughters, Melissa Black and husband, Chad of Levelland, Angelia Dye and husband Michael of New Deal, TX, and Taylor Phillips of Levelland; two sons, Damian Woodley and Dalton Phillips, both of Levelland; her mother, Ruth Thompson of Levelland; two sisters, Benette McDonald and husband Shaun of Seminole, TX and Shannah Reynolds and husband Heath of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Brody and Courtney Black, Mikah Woodley, Brennon Guerra, and Hailey Dye; a niece, Summer Herriage and two nephews, Connor McDonald and Avery Reynolds.
