Mr. Madison was born in Caldwell County to the late Donald Madison and Ida Hazel Allen Madison Story. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Peggy, Polly, and Daisy. He was the owner of Avon Barber Shop in Lenoir for 40 years, a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during WWII and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hudson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara Watson of the home; his sons, William “Tony” Madison of Lenoir, and Dr. Christopher Madison and wife Teresa of Cherryville, NC; his brother, Edward Madison of New Castle, Indiana; his grandchildren, Marshall Madison, Stephanie Schenck, Meredith Clark, Erica Ricker, Malia Madison and Michael Madison, and great grandchildren, Eli and Summer Clark.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hudson with Reverend Mack Jarvis, III officiating. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with military rites provided by the United States Air Force and Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Madison, Marshall Madison, Andrew Schenck, Jason Ricker, Casey Clark and Lee Williams.
The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Hudson, 345 Main Street, Hudson, NC 28638.
