William Stewart Eubanks, 75, of Lenoir, NC and Black Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully in Raleigh, NC on July 4, 2018. Bill was born February 25, 1943 and was loved by his parents, the late Hoyle Eubanks and Sally Gordon Eubanks of Lenoir, NC.

Bill was a fine son, husband, and father. He excelled in sports including pole vault and weight lifting, and holds the distinctions of high school state champion at pole vault and winning the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games Scottish wrestling tournament a record number of times. Bill graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC and received his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Bill operated a successful law practice in Buncombe County before moving back to Lenoir in 2002, where he practiced law until his retirement several years later. He loved traveling for legal conferences, and listening to music from oldies to country to beach music.

Bill is survived by his three children, Julie Rigby of Raleigh, NC, Valerie Eubanks of Edgewater, NJ, and Bill Eubanks (and wife Helen Dombalis) of Fort Collins, CO, as well as his granddaughter Vivian Eubanks of Fort Collins, CO.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 8th, 2018 at Pendry’s Funeral Home in Lenoir, NC. Viewing at 2:00 pm followed by a service at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, NC.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Lenoir at 309 Church Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
