Treva S. Moore

She was 93. She was born Treva Donalene Setzer to Donald Jerome and Grace Parsons Setzer in Lenoir, NC. Treva is preceded in death by both her parents, her sister, Hazel Setzer Bumgarner, her first husband, Eugene Franklin Moore, an infant son, Donald Eugene Moore, and a nephew, Herbert Jerome Bumgarner.

Treva is survived by her husband Mr. David Leon Clark of Lenoir. She leaves behind a niece, Mrs. Patricia Bumgarner Singer (Jimmy) of Marietta, GA and a nephew, Mr. Carl Thomas Bumgarner (Sherry) of Lenoir.

Treva was blessed with several great nieces/nephews, and even great-great nephews. Her two great nephews are Mr. Aaron Thomas Bumgarner (Maddie) of Charlotte, NC, and Dr. Justin Patrick Singer of Seattle, WA. Treva is survived by five great nieces, Mrs. Sarah Beth Simmons (Billy) of Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Lauren Grace Dean (Dr. Derek) of Senoia, GA, Morgan Rae Bumgarner, Makensie Renee Bumgarner of Lenoir, and Meredith Singer Jones (Jake) of Cumming, GA.

Treva also leaves behind three young great-great nephews, Lincoln Pierce Simmons, Callum Ridge Simmons and Hunter James Massagee.

Treva was a graduate of Lenoir High School. She attended Clevenger Business School in Hickory, NC. She was bookkeeper for W.E. Shaw Furniture Company for 32 years. Upon a brief retirement, Treva decided to work part-time enjoying gift-wrapping for Belk Department Store in Lenoir. In her spare time Treva loved reading, whether devotionals, books, magazines and most assuredly recipe books. She will be remembered for sharing G-rated silly riddles and simple funny jokes over the years.

Treva was a member at Central Advent Christian Church in Lenoir for over 86 years. She held position of Church Treasurer for over 10 years. She was a member in the Faye Messick Circle, serving on various committees, and Treasurer for the continuing Robbins Memorial Fund, providing college scholarships for qualifying students.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Central Advent Christian Church, Monday, January 15th, 2024. Receiving for family at 11:00am, followed by service, concluding with a private graveside burial for family.
