He was born on September 10, 1961 in Maryville, Tennessee to the late Roy Lee Roberts and Betty M. Roberts. Mr. Roberts was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed his work family and especially loved to travel with his wife.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen M. Roberts.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Amanda Roberts of Lenoir; daughter, Rebecca Taylor Roberts of New York; brothers, Roger D. Roberts and wife Debbie of Hornsby, Tennessee and Jeff Scott Roberts of Maryville, Tennessee; also several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Roberts will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nicky Waters officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with military honors performed by the North Carolina National Guard and the Caldwell County Veteran's Honor Guard.
Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be: Clifford Crisp, Robert Crisp, John Crouch, Ethan Jenkins, John Jenkins, and John W. Jenkins.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
