Mrs. Ferguson was born February 17, 1947 in Caldwell County to the late John Embra and Lucy Adele Suddreth Branch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister; Rebecca Harshaw.
Mrs. Ferguson was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family. She was known for the big heart she had for her family members, always ready and willing to help care for them. She was a faithful member of Patterson Grove Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years, and was a member of the Womens Missionary Circle of Yadkin Valley Missionary Baptist Association. Mrs. Ferguson loved her church and her church family and served as a Sunday School Teacher, church clerk, church custodian and served as the Correspondence Secretary for the Yadkin Valley Missionary Baptist Association Sunday School Convention. She was an avid gardener and was known for her generosity, sharing the wonderful things from her garden with family, friends and neighbors.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years, Benny Ferguson of the home, her children, Benny Russell Ferguson Jr and wife Lisa of Winston Salem, Deborah Pitts and husband Danny of Winston Salem, Kim Silver and husband Timothy of Chesterfield, VA and Crystal Toller and husband Matthew of Lenoir. Also left to cherish her memory are her beloved grandchildren; Stephon Capers, Bryant Capers, Isaac McCapers and wife Britney, Timothy Silver Jr., Charles Silver, Rachel Silver, Katherine Silver, Benny Ferguson III, Kendrick Ferguson, Ryas Ferguson, Sarai Ferguson and Nathaniel Toller.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Ferguson will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Rev. Willie Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service at Wildwood Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, all of the providers, as well as family and friends who cared, and encouraged Mother and our family.
