Sharon Elaine Carswell Hamby

Sharon Elaine Carswell Hamby, 62, of Lenoir, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare.

Mrs. Hamby was born in Caldwell County to the late Robert Carswell and Sadie Harris Carswell. She worked in sales in the retail industry and was a member of Whitnel First Baptist Church where she was very active in the church activities until she was not longer able due to her health. She loved trips to the beach and enjoyed shopping.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barber Eugene Hamby.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Shannon Timbs and husband Joel of Lenoir; her sister, Pam Soots and husband Michael of Lenoir; her grandchildren, Devin and Levi Smith of Lenoir; her sisters-in-law, Peggy Smith and husband Andrew, and Joanne Arnette and husband Junior; her nephews, Chad Wendelborg and Hunter Soots, both of Lenoir.

Services will be held at Whitnel First Baptist Church Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Stuart White and Reverend Steve Hedgecock officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 23, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Whitnel First Baptist Church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Wendelborg, Devin Smith, Levi Smith, Reggie Harris, Ryan Harris and Chet Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Carswell, Ricky Cannon, Brent Palmer, Mark Harris and Rick Cannon.
