She was born December 15, 1939 in Watauga County to the late Charlie A. May and Ruth Smitherman May. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Dellinger, Sr.; one daughter, Kelly Renae Dellinger; and two granddaughters, Maggie and Molly Stanbery.
Mrs. Dellinger was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church , Collettsville Historical Society and was a volunteer for several years at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.
Survivors include her Mother, Ruth Smitherman May; one son, Russell “Rusty” Dellinger, Jr. and wife Paula; one daughter, Shannon Dellinger Stanbery and husband Allen; one brother, Louie May and wife Reta; one sister, Beulah Whisenant and husband Steve; and three grandchildren, Ethan and Luke Dellinger and Hannah Stanbery.
A funeral service for Mrs. Dellinger will be held at Pendry’s Chapel at 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 17, 201l with Reverend Stuart White officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will be at the Crisp Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Dellinger, Luke Dellinger, Allen Tolbert, Sam Safriet, Richard Coffey, and Ronnie Houck.
