Ruby Viola Carswell Watson, 83, of Lenoir passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare.
Mrs. Watson was born in Burke County to the late Roosevelt “Rose” Carswell and Zena Smith Carswell. She was a retired seamstress and member of Flemings Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Mason Watson; brothers, Marvin and Frank Carswell; sisters, Edna and Cathleen Carswell.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dewayne Watson and wife Gina of Lenoir, and Joey Watson and wife Darlene of Lenoir; her daughter, Theresa Watson Robbins and husband Jimmy of Lenoir; her grandchildren, Cody Mikeal, James Smith, Brandy Watson, Levi Watson and Melissa Watson; seven great grandchildren; a brother, John Carswell, her caregiver, Diane Roberts and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Flemings Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend David Haltom and Reverend Billy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Mikeal, Levi Watson, James Smith, Isiah Curtis, Jesse Peeler and Jimmy Robbins.
