Bobby was born December 4, 1949 in Caldwell County to the late Robert Hubert Watson Sr. and Minnie Mozell Greer Watson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Diana Watson, a brother, Johnny Watson and a sister, Darlene Watson.
Mr. Watson was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Spending time with his family was very important to him. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He loved the time he spent in church and served as a deacon in his earlier years. Bobby enjoyed fishing and he loved to watch the races, westerns, Atlanta Braves Baseball and football. He worked as a mechanic, he was an ASE Certified Master Technician, and could work on anything with a motor.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Amanda Hacker (Zach) of Vale, Cynthia Houston (Doug) of Connelly Springs, a granddaughter, Madeline Curry (Dylan) of Lenoir, his siblings, Barbara Singleton (Jimmy) of Hickory, Wornard Watson of Lenoir, Gail Watson (David) of Hudson, Eddie Watson (Laura) of Sawmills, Dale Watson (Joby) of Claremont and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Celebration of Bobby's Life will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Robbins and Rev. Brian Correll officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm at Pendry's Funeral Home.
