Robert Hamilton Franklin

Mr. Franklin was born in Barrett, WV to the late Jones Clingman Franklin and Carrie Townsend Franklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Doris Franklin; his brothers, Paul Jones Franklin and Spencer Homer Franklin; his sisters, Estella Margret Walker and Amy Teresa Franklin. He was retired from the furniture industry, a member of the National Association of Wood Carvers and enjoyed oil painting and going to the Lenoir Senior Center. He was a Christian by faith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Robert Jones Franklin and wife Angela of Lenoir; his daughters, Mamie Elizabeth Franklin of Hudson, and Lori Reed and husband Tad of Hildebran; his brother, Mason Finley Franklin and wife Rita of Boone; a sister-in-law Margie Franklin of Blue Ridge, GA; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Derrick Lingerfelt officiating. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The family requests that memorials be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
