.Rilla Phillips, 93, of Granite Falls, passed away peacefully in her home, May 11, 2016. She was born to the late Clyde Henry Burns and Laura Williams Burns in Caldwell County on December 22, 1922. She was an active life time member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Rilla was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-great grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Along with her parents, Rilla is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Paul Monroe Phillips, brother; Albert Burns, sister; Bobbie Jean Bumgarner, sons-in-law; Arthur Lynn Jr. and Michael Triplette.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son; Gary Monroe Phillips (wife Brenda Hoffman) of Greensboro, daughters; Loretta Phillips Triplette and Paula Phillips Lynn both of Granite Falls, grandchildren; Weston Triplette (wife Shannon), Shannan Triplette, Lauren Triplette Hutto (husband Jimmy Hutto), Dirk Phillips (wife Michelle), Todd Phillips (wife Sarah), Chad Phillips (wife Jennifer), Patrick Phillips, and Amanda Smith, great grandchildren; Ellen Lance, Danielle Triplette Alvorado, Abigail Triplette, Ian Johnson, Saralynn Gaillard, Alex Gaillard, Peyton Triplette, Noah Hutto, Samuel Hutto, Lucy Claire Hutto, Paul Philllips, Piper Phillips, Joshua Phillips, Caroline Phillips, Quin Phillips, Campbell Grace Phillips, Bradley Phillips, and great-great grandchild Airyanna Lance.
Funeral Service for Rilla Phillips will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Chapel United Methodist Church. Reverend Eric Lane will be officiating the services. A graveside service will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The National Parkinson’s Foundation, Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, Grace Chapel United Methodist Church, or Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
