Richard Ray Dula Jr., 80, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Richard Ray was born to the late Richard Ray Dula Sr. and Lucy Holder Dula in Caldwell County on January 10, 1936. Richard enjoyed spending time with family and enjoying life itself. He retired from Broyhill Furniture after 35 years of dedicated service. He and his wife Andrea of 44 years enjoyed camping and owned Red Pigs BBQ. Richard Ray was also a CB Radio enthusiast known as “Black Boot”.
Richard Ray is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Adam Hamby, a sister Jean Dula Gragg, and a nephew Douglas Gragg.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Andrea Dula; Daughter, Brenda Dula of Ferguson; Son, Jimmy Dula of Wilkesboro and step-son, Russell Edward Setser and wife Rebecca of Charlotte; Sister, Nancy Dula Livingston of Boomer; Grandchildren, Erik Hamby, Brandy Triplett, Karlie Dula, and Dylan Dula; Great Grandchildren, Ethan Hamby, Heather Hamby, Kaid Hamby, and Kamryn Dula; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Richard Ray will include a visitation at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on January 30, 2016 with a private graveside service following. Rev. Sam Craven will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Caldwell County Hospice 902 Kirkwood Street Lenoir, NC 28645.
