Miriam Elizabeth Allen Penley

Miriam Elizabeth Allen Penley, age 67 of Lenoir, passed away, on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Gateway Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Born Sunday, July 23, 1955 to Willard Allen and Mozella Branch Allen, in Burke County, NC.

In addition to her father, she is proceeded in death by her sister Reberta Wright.

Ms. Penley is survived by her husband Larry Penley, son Steven Penley (Wife Julie) and son Luther Penley (Wife Myra). Grandchildren include Isabella, Addison, William, Elizabeth, Brooke, and Luther Jr. (LJ). Miriam’s brothers left with great memories are Michael, Donnie, Jeffery, and Dewey, sisters are Prissilla, Sandra, Marion, and Edith.

Mrs. Penley will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and spreading joy to all who knew her. She served as a CNA 2, and had a passion for helping others.

The Penley family will receive friends Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at Pendry's Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service for Miriam will be held at Pendry's Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Dewey Bristol officiating.

Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Baptist Cemetery.
