Mildred Lee Pennell

Mrs. Pennell was born in Watauga County to the late Amos Triplett and Texie Andrews Triplett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dudley D. Pennell, three brothers, and one sister.

Mrs. Pennell was an active member of Cedar Valley United Methodist Church. She was retired owner and operator of Little River Grocery. She loved all her friends at the Shaire Center and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include a son Ned Pennell and wife Dorothy of Lenoir; three daughters, Jean Reid of Taylorsville, Peggy Blinson and husband Keith of Lenoir, Billie Braswell and husband Charles also of Lenoir, one sister Nell Lowman of Lenoir, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mildred will be held Monday, April 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Sarah Fouts and Reverend Myron Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cedar Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers for Mildred will be her grandsons.
