Mike was born on April 10, 1961 in Caldwell County to Paul (Saved) Minton of Lenoir and the late Josephine Laws Minton.
Preacher Mike was a Godly man, who loved everyone he came in contact with. His main purpose and goal in life was to spread the word of Jesus Christ to all he came in contact with. Mike was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather and he was loved greatly by his family. He also had an infectious sense of humor, and referred to himself as the “purdiest preacher in Caldwell County”. Preacher Mike loved his church family and was honored to be the Pastor of Gospel Truth Ministries. Mike was a member of the Happy Valley Ruritan. Mike was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed, but our loss is Heavens gain.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 33 years, Sandra “Sam” Runion Minton of the home: he was the love of her life, , his children, Cole Minton and wife Amber, Daniel Minton, Jonathon Minton and wife Teddi, daughter Elizabeth Marie Minton, his father, Paul Iredell Minton, brothers, Greg Minton and wife Susan, Gary Minton and wife Connie, Tommy Norris, sisters, Kay Beard and husband Larry, Sandra Long, Cindy Norris, all of Lenoir and the twisted sisters he loved; Pamela Holsclaw, Debbie Clark, Lisa Huffman and Sharon Sherrill.
Also left to cherish his memory are is beloved grandchildren, Hunter and Mason Minton who dearly loved their “Pie Pie".
A funeral service to honor the memory of Preacher Mike Minton will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Small
(Preacher Mikes dearest friend) officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Pearson, Cole Minton, Daniel Minton, Jonathan Minton, Larry McMillon and Nathan Hartley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Minton, Mason Minton, Mark Wilson Jr., Mark Wilson Sr., Mickey Clarke, Greg Clarke, Robert Colley, Harley Starnes, Larry Beard and Horace Beard.
