Michael Jeffrey Lutz

Michael Jeffrey Lutz, age 65, of Lenoir went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville surrounded by his family. Mike was born on June 22, 1959, in Caldwell County to the late Fred and Alta Lutz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Martha Starnes.

Left to cherish Mike's memory are his loving wife of 43 years Cindy Lutz, his brother-in-law Tim Starnes (wife Janice), his nephew Josh Starnes (wife Charlene), his great-nephew Cassius Starnes, his niece Deanetta Bullins, great-niece Ciara Simmons (husband Graham), nephew Wesley White (wife Christy) and family, his church family, and many beloved friends.

Mike worked as a human resource manager at Belk for many years. He was an active member of College Avenue Baptist Church, where he wore many hats. He served as a deacon, was an Adult Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, played handbells, was a member of the Brotherhood, and served on the finance committee. He was an avid Tar Heel fan. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his overarching kindness, and the love he had for his family and his church.

In keeping with his wishes, no services will be held.
