Her interests included family, gardening and cooking. If anyone ever came to her house, they didn’t leave without eating something. In her younger years of marriage, she stayed at home and devoted much of her time babysitting other family members children so they could work. She loved them as her own. Then worked in the furniture factories (Kincaid, Singers, Broyhill’s) around 10 years until her husband retired at age 65.
Mrs. Houck preceded in death by her Mother Fannie Ann (Kilby) West and Father Ira Alexander West, Husband Eugene Paris Houck and her Son Phiffer Eugene Houck, Sisters Annie Elizabeth (West) Laws, Vera Edna (West) McLean, Florence Victoria (West) Walker, Minnie Sylvester (West) Smith, Ruth Neoma (West) Shook, and her Brothers York Alexander West, Harvey Willian West, Ira Elmo West, Grandson James Wesley McJunkin.
She leaves to cherish her memory one brother Abraham Grant West, one sister Sarah Rebecca (West) Holman, one daughter Sherry (Houck) McJunkin and her husband JW McJunkin III, Granddaughter Jennifer Houck-Green-Boyles and her husband Kurt William Boyles, and two children Thomas Phiffer Green and Jillian Elizabeth Green, Granddaughter Amanda McJunkin Chasteen and her husband Monte Chasteen, Grandson Phiffer Brandon Houck and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
