Mrs. Steele was born on June 30, 1925 in Caldwell County to the late Monroe Coffey and Dovie Jane Clarke Coffey. She was married to her loving husband, Robert Haywood Steele, for over 50 years and was a devoted church member of First Baptist church of Lenoir.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Priddy and seven siblings.
She is survived by one son, Brian Steele and wife Jackie Steele and son-in-law, Charles Priddy, grandchildren; Adam Steele and wife Kara of Statesville, Steven Steele and wife Kelli of Kings Mountain, Chris Priddy and partner Jeremy Huffman of Asheville, and Kevin Priddy of Lenoir, great grandchildren; Greyson Priddy, Baylee Steele, Bryson Steele, Kyndall Steele and Breelyn Steele.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Steele will be held at First Baptist Church of Lenoir on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 3:00pm with Rev. Josh Hughes officiating. A receiving of friends will take place one hour prior the service from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
