Marjorie Beard Hawkins

Mrs. Hawkins was born in Caldwell County on November 26, 1926 to the late Andrew and Faunnie Davis Beard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great grandson, Ethan Michael Marsh; one brother, James Beard; five sisters, Ruth Robbins, Louise Carswell, Jessie Price, Betty Beard, and Katherine Clontz.

She was a homemaker and a member of Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty-two and a half years, Ross L. Hawkins of the home; one son, Kenneth Wayne “Tiny” Hawkins of Lenoir, NC; two daughters, Linda Hawkins Travis and husband, Terry of Conover, NC, Phyllis Hawkins Good and husband, Henry of Lenoir, NC; three grandchildren, Kelly Travis, Krista Travis White, and Ashley Good; and two great grandchildren, Savannah Travis and Chloe White.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hawkins will be held Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Pendry’s Chapel with Dr. David Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir, NC.

Serving as pallbearers will be close family members.
