Born November 24, 1916 in Burke County, Margaret was the daughter of the late, John and Lena Lefever Hoyle. She was a lifelong member of the Oakwood Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and treasurer for over 50 years. Margaret was also an avid gardener who enjoyed working with her flowers. She retired from Blue Bell after 35 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grayson Setzer; and two brothers, Jake Hoyle and Bruce Hoyle.
Survivors include a sister in law, Lois Hoyle of Lenoir; two nieces, Susan Gragg of Lenoir and Lora Letts, husband Robbie, of Raleigh; a nephew, Greg Hoyle, wife Tammy, of Lenoir; three great nieces, Megan Gragg and Katelin Gragg of Lenoir, and Taylor Letts of Raleigh; three great nephews, Bradley Letts and Carson Letts of Raleigh and Christopher Hoyle of Lenoir; two great great nieces, Ava Hubbard of Lenoir and Cameron Hoyle of Lenoir, one great great nephew, Jack Erskine of Lenoir; she is also survived by numerous other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Setzer will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 in the Chapel of Pendry’s Funeral Home at 3:00 PM with Reverend Phillip Adams officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Shew, Butch Walker, Jonathan Erskine, Frank Greene, Chad Gragg and Christopher Hoyle.
