Margaret Jane Powers

She was predeceased by her husband, Garner Powers Jr., her father Jones Bentley and her mother Zettie Teague, six siblings Lonnie Bentley (Norma), Ernest Bentley (Bunnie), Roger Bentley (Ann), Emma Jean Jones (Ralph), Betty Jo Sweat (Tim), Linda Miller (Eddie) and nephew Steve Tolbert of Hudson, N.C.

Margaret is survived by her son Garner W. Powers III (Keisha), grandchildren Preston Powers of Vale, N.C., Dakota Gragg (Haley) of Vale, N.C., Hailey Villegas (Skyler) of Zirconia, N.C., Lauren Ledford of Hudson, N.C., great grandsons Roman Villegas, Silas Villegas, Kai Villegas all of Zirconia, N.C., nieces Kim Growden (Mark) of Hudson, N.C., Susie Miller (Jean) of Morganton, N.C., Judy Tolbert, and nephews, Carl Miller (Tracey) of Granite Falls, N.C., Bryan Tolbert (Lori) of Boone, N.C., Ronnie Tolbert of Hudson, N.C., and Anthony Tolbert of Hudson, N.C.

Margaret was a Christian lady and a member of the seniors group at her church, Winkler's Grove Baptist church. She loved to paint, color and craft plus she was an avid bird watcher. Margaret was the treasurer of the Beta Sigma Phi International Club. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Margaret sewed for many years and made many quilts for others usually giving them away. She never met a stranger and was sensitive and compassionate towards the needs of others.

Visitation will occur on Sunday, January 7th from 11:30 a.m.-12:00 noon at Winkler's Grove Baptist church, Hickory, N.C.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 7th, 12:00 noon at Winkler's Grove Baptist church, Hickory, N.C.
