Mable Bohler Craig, 85, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness. This day, she and her husband would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Craig was the daughter of the late Leeward Bohler and Sallie Joe Moss Bohler. Mable was a 1948 Graduate of Lincolnton High School in Lincolnton, GA. She owned and operated RJ Craig Saw Service in the Lenoir area for over 45 years, and was well known in the area for her seamstress abilities. She was as member of Hudson First Baptist Church for over 55 years, active in the Stella Austin Circle, the Naomi Sunday School Class and WHO. Mrs. Craig enjoyed traveling with her friends, reading and outdoor activities.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Craig, a brother; Henry Talmadge Bohler, sister-in-law; Ruby Bohler, a sister; Dorothy Bohler and a brother-in-law; Clarence Raby.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Joseph B. (Joey) Craig and wife Sherry of Lenoir, Phyllis Craig Johnson and husband Mike of Las Vegas, NV, Bonnie Craig Caudle and husband Randy of Lenoir, grandchildren; Nicholas Moncada of Golden, Colorado, Stephanie M. Copple of Royse City, Texas, Matthew Craig of Lenoir, Meredith Craig of Lenoir, Mason Craig of Lenoir, Lauren Scott of Huntersville, great grandchildren; Jordan Copple, Reagan Craig, Norah, Julia and Hattie Scott, a sister, Judy Raby of Lenoir and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Hudson First Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Reverend R. Mack Jarvis III, Reverend Jim Hamby and Reverend Wade Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers for the service will be James Watson, Bobby Bohler, Jerry Crump, George Kirby, Jim Bare, Gary Dietz, Michael Watson, and Tommy Hendrix.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Paul Renfrow for all he has done.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that memorials be made to Hudson First Baptist Church at 345 Main Street, Hudson, NC 28630 or Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
