Mabel Burdell Gragg Davis, 92, of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Lenoir Healthcare.
Mrs. Davis was born in Caldwell County to the late Phillip Gragg and Flossie McLean Gragg. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church and previously served as a Sunday school teacher at Union Grove Baptist Church and Laurel Springs Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always putting others before herself, and was a wonderful cook and housekeeper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stacy R. Davis; a sister, 7 brothers, a grandson, Douglas Bryant, and a son-in-law, Gary Bryant.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Sam Davis and wife Sherry of Lenoir, and Steve Davis and wife Judy of Lenoir; her daughters, Barbara Bryant of Hudson, and Geraldine Walsh and husband Benny of Lenoir; her sister, Inez Marshall of Taylorsville; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Larry Winkler officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.
The grandsons of Mrs. Davis will serve as pallbearers.
