She was born to the late Leonard Beane and Lottie Gragg Beane on February 28, 1923 in Caldwell County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Chester, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Roger G. Chester of Granite Falls; grandson, Marc R. Chester and wife Kim of Granite Falls; great-grandson, Peyton L. Chester; and sister, Ruth Widner of Lenoir.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gyles Widner and Rev. Horace Minton officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street NW, Lenoir, North Carolina 28645.
