Lonnie Eugene Ferguson

Dr. Lonnie Eugene Ferguson was born in Caldwell Count on April 7, 1943 to the parents of Charlie Dewey Ferguson and Thelma Patterson Ferguson. He was called home on February 3, 2011. He joined the Patterson Grove Baptist Church at an early age.

Lonnie graduated from Freedman High School, St. Augustine College in Raleigh, NC, and Howard University Medical School where he specialized in Pediatrics.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Ferguson, three brothers, Delton Ferguson of Lenoir, James Ferguson of Richmond, Virginia, and infant, Curtis Rodney of Lenoir and daughter-in-law, Drothea Michelle of Baltimore, Maryland, and nephew, Bradley Ferguson of Richmond.

Lonnie leaves to mourn his passing; one son, Julius Ferguson, (Mother, Geneva), grandson, Xazier Ferguson, granddaughter, Asia Ferguson, all of Baltimore, Maryland. He leaves his Mother, Thelma Ferguson of Lenoir, NC, two brothers, Benny Ferguson of Lenoir, and Randy Ferguson of New Haven, Connecticut, four sisters, Edtih Linney (Orange, “OJ”), of Greensboro, NC, Earleen Edwards of Lenoir, Rita Howard of Hampton, Va., and Claudia Fuller of Winston Salem, NC; He leaves aunts, Ruth Harshaw, Rosetta Ferguson of Lenoir, NC, and Lois Williams, Katie Jones and Juliet Battle of Raleigh, NC; He leaves a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Pendry’s.
