Mrs. Shew was born February 17, 1939 in Iredell County to the late Charles Chester and Pearl Eckard Chester.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Lloyd Shew, and two sisters, Sue Minton and Terry Laws, preceded her in death.
Linda was a member of New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family above all else.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Michael Shew and wife Amber, Brian Shew and wife Teresa, daughters, Donna Scruggs and husband Keith, Lisa Setser and husband Marc, brother, Ronnie Chester, all of Lenoir and a sister, Sherry Pilkenton of Granite Falls.
Also left to cherish her memory are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Shew will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 2:00 pm at New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Shew, Luke Setser, Elijah Shew, Garrison Drum, Jeff Curlee and Joseph Sumpter.
The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church.
