Larry Lloyd Shew

Mr. Shew was born in Wilkes County to the late Tom Robert Shew and Beulah Mae Porter Shew. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hillary, Grady, Platt and Issac Shew and a sister, MaryLee Francum.

He was a self-employed car dealer and a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Chester Shew of the home; his sons, Michael Lloyd Shew and wife Amber of Lenoir, and Brian Scott Shew and wife Teresa of Lenoir; his daughters, Donna Shew Scruggs and husband Keith of Lenoir and Lisa Shew Setser and husband Marc of Lenoir; brothers, Lonnie, Richard, Reese and Ray Shew; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Chapel with Pastor Richard Shew, Pastor Billy Forbs and Pastor Daniel Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Funeral Home Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Sumpter, Garrison Drum, Luke Setser, Tyler Scruggs, Jeff Curley and Scotty Shew.

The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
