Kathryn Elizabeth "Betty" Timbs

Kathryn Elizabeth "Betty" Timbs, age 83, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 at her residence. Betty was born January 21, 1941 in Johnson County, TN to the late Walter Brownlow Neely and Beaulah York Neely.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hollis Van Neely, three brothers-in-law, Jim and Herman Timbs and Harvey Brown.

Betty was a member at Meadowbrook Baptist Church for over 50 years. She held many jobs over the years, Broyhill Furniture, Walmart and Farm Bureau, but her favorite and most important job was being a wife, mother and Mamaw to her beloved grandchildren. She was an amazing artist and cook. She loved to sing and play piano.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 61 years, Joe Timbs of the home, her children, Joel Timbs and wife Shannon of Lenoir, Kay Durfor and husband George of Boone, grandchildren, Christopher Joel Timbs of Lenoir, Tucker Stone and wife Chassie of Lenoir, Colt Stone and wife Amber of Sugar Grove, Great-grandchildren, Clint Thomas Stone, August Edward Stone, Salem-Ray Madison Stone, Sisters-in-law, Lucille Brown of Mountain City, TN, Betty Timbs of Mountain City, TN, Wanda Deal of Mountain City, TN, Patsy Guider of Greenback, TN along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A funeral service to honor Betty will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Beck officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tucker Stone, Colt Stone, CJ Timbs, Danny Timbs, Jeff Brown and Robbie Timbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Hendrix, Jack Wilson, Lonnie Neely, Jorge Chaparro, Howard Moore, David Spears, Denny Enloe, Van Neely, Charles Thompson and Jim Neely.

Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Mountain City, TN at 3385 Roan Creek Road, Mountain City, TN.
