Katherine S Crump

Born in Johnson City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Sidney W. Smith and Emma Lutz Smith. Mrs. Crump was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, and worked in the furniture and textile industries.

She volunteered at Caldwell Memorial Hospital and Lenoir Healthcare Center for a number of years.

Mrs. Crump was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; four sisters; her husband, Donald Eugene Crump, and one great-grandson, Paul Michael Younce.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry Eugene Crump and his wife, JoAnn Crump of Lenoir; two daughters, Mary C. Hamby and her husband, Rev. James Hamby of Hudson, and Trudy Nichols of Hudson. Seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren also survive.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 31, 2011 from 1:30 PM till 3:00 PM.

A Memorial service for Mrs. Crump will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Pendry’s Chapel with Rev. Jim Hamby officiating. Graveside Rites will be held privately.
